Welcome

The RAS Foundation (RASF) was established in 2007 to help build strong, sustainable and resilient rural and regional communities in NSW.

Purpose of the RAS Foundation Rural Scholarship: To support students who are passionate and committed to forging careers that will contribute to the future success of rural and regional NSW including the ACT.

Value: Up to $7,000 for full-time study or $3,500 for part-time study. 

Who can apply?

  • Applicants must be applying for, or holding admission to, a course with relevance to rural and regional NSW including the ACT.
  • Applicants must be studying at a registered higher education provider; this can be a university, TAFE or college.
  • Applicants must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
  • Applicants of any age are eligible to apply.

RAS employees, RAS Councillors and RAS Foundation Directors and their immediate family members, including partners, children or grandchildren are not eligible to apply for a RAS Foundation Rural Scholarship.

 Selection priorities based on:

  • Financial need.
  • Desire to actively contribute in rural and  regional NSW including the ACT.
  • Demonstrated interest in rural issues and involvement in the local community.

Applications open: Tuesday 8 July 2025

Application close: Monday 20 October 2025

Scholarship Funds: Awarded in three instalments commencing in March 2026 for use in the 2026 academic year.
